Ischiopubic Synchondrosis, Normal Asymetric Closure

Clinical Presentation:
May present with incidental pain at the site of the ischiopubic synchondrosis.

Etiology/Pathophysiology:
Closure of the ischiopubic synchondrosis is variable and can occur as early as 3 years. Asymmetry in closure is the rule rather than the exception. Unilateral swelling at the site is often seen before closure occurs.

Pathology:
Not applicable

Imaging Findings:
Asymmetry of the ischiopubic synchondrosis.
