A barium enema was performed preoperatively to define the colonic anatomy. The symphysis pubis is diastatic. The more anterior, vaginal opening was injected first and the rectosigmoid, descending, transverse and ascending colon were filled to the cecum. Lateral, AP and overhead films show this colon filled through the vagina is normal in caliber, but is malpositioned with the descending colon on the right side of the abdomen and the cecum in the left lower quadrant.
