Clinical History:
The patient was a 6 week old female with a small punctate sinus located at the right sternocleidomastoid that had expressed some secretions.
Clinical Physical Exam:
Small punctate sinus at the right sternocleidomastoid.
Clinical Labs:
Non-contributory
Clinical Differential Diagnosis:
Branchial cleft sinus
Imaging Findings:
No pre-operative imaging was performed.
Imaging Differential Diagnosis:
None
Operative Findings:
The patient underwent an excision of the branchial cleft sinus tract which was 10 cm in length.
Pathological Findings:
Examination of the surgical specimen revealed findings consistent with a diagnosis of second branchial cleft sinus.
Final Diagnosis:
Second Branchial Cleft Sinus
Follow-up and Prognosis:
The patient had an uncomplicated post-operative course.
