Remember to check for spontaneous cough reflex
Lateral
Center at uvula - magnify - turn on video
Tablespoon liquid barium x 3
If no aspiration give mouthful of liquid barium
Tablespoon paste barium
Cookie coated with barium paste
Give water to wash out barium
AP (cone down)
Tablespoon liquid barium x 2
Mouthful liquid barium
Cookie coated with barium paste
Phonate aaa - eee - ahahah
If no aspiration do conventional esophagram
If anatomical problem seen in pharynx do AP and lat views without
barium swallow
